the Today show mistakenly reports that 50 million people have signed up for Second Life. They actually say it twice and put it in print!
Fortunately this Living inside a Second Life segment which obsessed on and on about the potential for addiction, was balanced out somewhat by another segment – Virtual worlds have real popularity with Matt Lauer and Electric Sheep CEO Sibley Verbeck. I heard about the Today show piece via an old-fashioned telephone link from the management of the artist formerly known as Sushi-Funk(and you though he was just an unimportant character in Snow Crash)
